Defined:

Holiday periods are simply the days prior to and following major U.S. holidays (New Year's, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) that we historically find ourselves fully booked up early with boarding reservations.

Minimum-Stay Requirement:

All boardings that overlap a designated "holiday period" (per the 2026 Boarding Calendar) must include a scheduled minimum of 3 nights.

Cancellation Fee:
-
Cancel 15-days or more ahead of your boarding start date, you owe nothing.

Cancel 14-days or less ahead of your boarding start date, you will owe the 3-night minimum-stay fee.

Once your boarding has begun, your total boarding fee for the full stay will not be reduced
if you later choose to cancel booked days on the back-end of your scheduled boarding.

Other 'Peak Periods':

Defined:

Other 'peak periods' include other historically high-boarding-reservation periods and include ALL local Omaha-area Spring Break weeks and ALL weekends (including Fridays through Sundays) of the school Summer break following Memorial Day Weekend and ending just prior to Labor Day Weekend.​

​PAYMENT:

Boarding fees are due by the time you pick-up your pup(s). You are welcome to pay them in advance when your drop-off your pups (or even earlier, if you wish), but that is not a current requirement.

Venmo is my preferred method of payment -- it's easy to use, secure, and there's no service fee for the sender or receiver! (Just ask for my Venmo account name if you decide to pay using this method.)

Cash is also acceptable.

DOGGIE DROP-OFFs AND PICK-UPs:
As we have numerous neighbors who border our "L"-shaped property (7 different families, to be exact), we must remain considerate of and vigilant regarding noise and activity levels at all times when we have pups outside. With this utmost in mind, we cannot accommodate drop-offs and pick-ups before 8am and after 9pm. Therefore:

All drop-offs and pick-ups must take place between the hours of 8am-9pm -- no exceptions!

If you are leaving town earlier in the morning or returning later at night and you cannot meet these time limitations, your pup(s) will need to be dropped-off the night (or day) before and/or picked-up the following morning (or day), and will incur an additional boarding night fee for any extra overnights incurred.

My added suggestion for your drop-off time: I personally know how difficult it is to drop-off your beloved pup(s) early and go back home to a quiet, empty home (especially if your travel doesn’t begin until the next morning) – I hate experiencing that myself also! However, please consider your pup(s) need to have sufficient time to adjust to their sudden new surroundings at our home, new people (us) and new pups (our dogs and any other boarding dogs) prior to having to come inside into a smaller confined space for the evening and certainly before everyone’s bedtime. If at all possible, please consider dropping off your pup(s) at least an hour before sunset so that your pup(s) and our pups can have time to get reacquainted and have some outdoor playtime before we must all go inside for the evening.

Where to drop-off & pick-up: Unless otherwise notified, we will conduct all drop-offs and pick-ups at our front door. Please text me (402.889.2733) to let me know you’ve arrived -- please don't ring the doorbell as that starts the whole doggie crew barking, and that's added chaos we don't need!

Do we offer doggie drop-off and pick-up service? Sorry, we can't leave the dogs we are supervising at our home to come pick-up your pup(s) or bring them back home when their stay is concluded. However, if needed, there are services such as Uber Pets (where you ride with your dog(s) in an Uber for a fee I'm told is only a few more dollars than a normal Uber ride) and "local pet transport services" (which may pick-up your pets without you having to ride along). Be sure to check those services out yourselves though as their policies could change at any time.
DOG WALKING:
Back when we started Doodle Dads Dog Boarding in 2023, we offered dog walking as an optional "add-on" service. During 2023 - 2025, only a small number of clients requested that service. Then in 2025, my primary (only!) dog walker, my husband Dan, had to be out of town quite often to help care for his ailing mother, so much so that these walks became almost impossible to conduct. So, we're changing things up!

Beginning in 2026, we will offer FREE dog walking for any clients who would like their dogs walked while boarding with us. We will ask clients when dropping off their pup(s) if they want dog walking during their stay, and it will then be up to several factors as to whether any walks actually take place or not, including:

Does my dog walker (Dan) have availability in his schedule to conduct dog walks?

Is the weather cooperative (i.e., decent) for the dogs . . . AND the dog walker?
-
Are there too many dogs present to walk all dogs with requested walks? (If yes, we'll rotate among them if walks are conducted.)

Just one request: If you indicate that you'd like your dog(s) walked AND you own anti-pull vests/harnesses for your dogs, please bring them when you drop-off your pup(s) for their stay!
